And even the much hyped post credits scenes were totally underwhelming. Terrible world building that shows no imagination whatsoever so completely digital it might as well have been a cartoon a yawnsville ‘oppressed masses rise up to fight the baddies’ subplot we’ve seen a million times before and lots of cringemaking characters specifically Murray, Modok (embarrassing) and all the alien type muppets that the film seems to want us to care about. But honestly, for the most part, I thought it was absolute dreck. We were all very quiet on the way home however. The kids and I sort of enjoyed it I guess (although they might have been being polite), in the sense that it was a night out at the movies. And Janet knows everyone there and understands everything. Yet everyone exists in a tiny corner of it where they can just bump into each other. How exactly? At a quantum scale the universe would be trillions of times bigger still. Once again, we’re to believe that a teenage girl who moonlights as a political activist can, in her spare time, alone, create magical hyper-advanced technology in secret in her basement that can ‘map’ the entire quantum realm.

The quantum realm is a different plane of existence that ought to have its own unique properties and rules that could make it fascinating. With the Quantum realm AND the Multiverse, they can do absolutely anything, consequence free.
