A lot of it is recycled, and things that show promise never return, both to serve a ridiculously quick production cycle.

The Sakura series on the other hand feels soulless. It feels like it was made from a love of those character designs. However, I feel like Nekopara has some soul put into it. I'm not a Nekopara fanboy, nor do I think the Sakura series should die in a fire. The few signs of promise they show in the writing department have been abandoned so far, specifically the Fantasy subseries. Sakura games have no voice acting, and are typically extremely generic and trope-y in a way that isn't fun at all. Nekopara also has cute voice acting, and the writing is legitimately funny at times, IMO. Their second artist has a bit more variety, and now that she's doing 18+ stuff that may improve things somewhat. The art is a redeeming quality, but they obviously recycle base character designs, every character in games with their first artist uses the same or very similar base poses, has the same boobs with the same weird shiny spots, the same eyes etc. Of the rest, most of it is soulless schlock, with a few hints at promise. Sakura, on the other hand, has put out no less than 14 titles in a little over 2 years, 2 of which are "free" but lock content behind a $30 patreon tier, and another that's a free clicker with a ton of pointless cosmetic dlc. The characters are also all recognizable and distinct. There's been 2 episodes and a mini episode/prologue so far, and some merch which is pretty standard. It's success came from the existing following of Sayori's art, and it doesn't try to be any more than it is, a cute, silly, comedically lewd slice of life with catgirls. I don't really see Nekopara as a cashgrab.
